So I just came back from watching Disney's new animated movie Frozen... and I FREAKIN' LOVED IT!!! Of course it's one of the best since Beauty and the Beast! If you loved that movie, you're gonna love this one! It's bright, it's colorful (well, mostly blue and white), it's energetic, it's funny, it's tragic, it's packed with quite a few memorable songs- all that great stuff you associate with everything Disney! I don't care if I'm an 18-year-old guy- I love this princess movie!
--
I haven't read the original Snow Queen story that inspired the film, but I think it's safe to say that being introduced through it through the Disney version is okay enough. I know there must be changes, so I'll just review the movie as it is.
--
STORY: Elsa and Anna are two sisters. Ever since they were kids, Elsa has had magical ice powers that nearly hurt Anna. So for a long time, Elsa never told Anna about her secret and has been shutting her out of her life. That is until one day where Elsa is finally crowned queen. A party goes on and Elsa accidentally reveals her powers in front of everyone, even her sister, thus she runs away and hides from the town she lives in, unaware that she put the town on ice! And now, Anna, believing that her own sister is not a monster, sets off to find her in the mountains, coming across many friends and magical elements!
--
CHARACTERS
Anna: She is so optimistic, energetic and fearless, though a tad bit clumsy. She is so likeable and cute, always trying to act kind even when she messes up. Despite her clumsiness, as far as Disney Princesses go, I think she would make a great role model for girls (optimism, energy, fearlessness, and kindness).
Elsa: She is definitely the opposite of her sister: careful but full of fear. Once she reveals herself and runs off, she happens to turn into her opposite self and feels free to let the ice grow around her and it makes her happy. This leads to what I call the best and most memorable song in the movie: Let It Go! I'm telling you, it's destined to be a classic!
If I did have one problem with her it's that... well... they NEVER explain how she got her icy powers. They just state that she must be cursed... and that's it. No more explanations.
But just like famous internet critic Doug Walker said in his review of Pinocchio: "If there's anything Disney is good at it's having us go along with things that don't make sense. And this movie does it pretty well." Same goes for the case of this film!
Kristoff: Yeah, you all know whom Anna is gonna end up with (pretty obvious, isn't it?). He's kinda jerky (sarcastic) sometimes, but still caring. He does agree to help Anna along in her journey, in which he developes his love for her.
Sven: Some people may call him "Maximus #2". That is NOT the case at all! He is NOTHING like Maximus the horse from Tangled! I mean, yeah, he has a brain, but he's no karate master or that silly a comic-relief! He's just a good companion!
Olaf: People had very mixed feelings toward this snowman. Many thought he would come off as an annoying comedy-relief character. WRONG AGAIN, PEOPLE!!! He is NO WHERE close to annoying! In fact, his comedy is actually very SUBTLE! Yeah, people expected him to be very loud and noisy and bouncy, but no! He's actually very subtle in this film! He does crack funny lines every once in a while. But he's also got a good "heart". Whenever there's a sad moment in the film, he doesn't ruin it with anything he says; he knows how serious it is and treats it as is. And, yeah, we all really feel for him when he wants to know what summer and heat is like; you want to see his dream come true! His song isn't that memorable, but it is funny.
I'm not gonna spoil his ending, but I predicted how it would turn out for him, even before I saw the movie (it's WEIRD how my predictions really do come true!).
The Trolls: I love these creatures! I wish they got more screen time, but whenever they're on, they're fun!
I'll get to the villains later.

THE SONGS
Honestly, I really do like the songs in this film! In fact, I think they will soon become household classics! I like Tangled, but I think the songs in that movie aren't so memorable. The songs in THIS film, however, DO stay in my head! I can remember most of the beats in every song they sang, particularly the one Elsa sings, Let It Go, which I still stand by as the greatest song in the movie! I may not remember the lyrics, but I absolutely remember the song and the rythm and beats! It is so memorable!
The second best is probably Anna's song: For The First Time in Forever. It is also upbeat and optimistic. Again, don't remember the lyrics, but it is just as charming and memorable as Elsa's song. For the most part, Anna's song just consists of "For the first time in forever" repeated over and over, but it doesn't really bother me; it's kinda catchy.
The third best must be the trolls' song. It's kinda catchy, almost like "Be Our Guest", though, again, I don't really remember the lyrics. They're just fun and bouncy.
Olaf's song is probably the fourth best. Again, don't remember the lyrics, but it's kinda catchy. The funniest line in the song is when he tries to find a rhyme for "cuddle", and then says, "just put me in summer, and I will turn into a... *eyes the puddle on the ground*... a happy snowman!" Either he was aware of what would happen or he was distracted, either way, it was pretty funny! It's on YouTube if you wanna search the song up.
The other songs, I don't really remember.

VILLAIN
Well, I was sorta guessing who was gonna be the villain since a YouTube friend of mine told me it was unexpected. And when the villain DID finally show up, I'll admit, I was kinda shocked! But, to be honest, is villanous motivation was kinda weak. In fact, I don't even remember what his motivation even was (all I remember was that he had to kill Elsa)! Gaston had a bigger motivation compared to him!
But yeah, I really was kinda shocked! And maybe you will be, too.

OVERALL
I really enjoyed the film. I think I would rate it an 8/10. Yeah, because those nick-picks I had before do kinda bother me. I do sorta wish the film was a bit stronger, but I'm not saying that it's bad. It's not! It's just as good as, well, Tangled. I could watch it about a million times and not ever get tired of it.
I say: go check it out! It's a good one!

MICKEY MOUSE SHORT
Oh, yeah! I should also do a review on the new animated Mickey Mouse cartoon short, Get a Horse!
I loved it! It was a great animated short!
However, it's not quite how I expected it. When we saw the first clip on YouTube, I expected the black and white short to fill up the screen, top to bottom. But in actuallity, it only seemed to be rather small.
But that's okay, because the rest of the frame was actually a CGI stage that played the black and white short (yeah, there's CGI in this short as well, most of you already knew that). But that's also okay, because after Mickey and Horace LITERALLY break through the fourth wall, they use the screen and gadgets on the stage to trick Pete in the black and white world into giving up Minnie! It's great 1930's humor at it's best in the modern day world! It was almost like looking at an animated short version of Epic Mickey!
Also, it was great to hear Walt Disney's voice once again as Mickey Mouse! So nostalgic indeed!
That's another thing I should bring up: I noticed that they took many lines from old Mickey Mouse cartoons to use as dialogue lines in this short. They just mix them up to make them say new things.
Like when Pete says the line from "Mr. Mouse Takes a Trip", they mix it up and make him say, "All alone, without your little - princess!"
And when he's knocked out, he says, "I used to have a little cat once..."
I also love when Horace uses a modern cell phone and Mickey says the line, "Telephone!" from the Ghost Exterminators cartoon! So funny!
So, I guess this is Mickey Mouse cartoon # 121 (since Runaway Brain)! I really enjoyed it!
If you wanna see it, arrive to the movie theaters earlier to see the short!

NO JIMENITOON FAN ART, PLEASE!
Lately, I've seen a bunch of people drawing fan art of my Jimenitoon characters, mostly consisting of Kevin and Violet, as well as Lauren, and a few others. I think it's time I remind everyone, as well as let newcomers know, about the situation with my Jimenitoons... As much as it pains me to say this, currently, my Jimenitoons are NOT allowed to be drawn by others, neither as fan art, gift art, or for other stuff. I have my reasons. One being, well, I'm on the internet and many freaks on the internet like to steal content, despite the fact that I can prove that these are my characters and I've owned them since the very beginning. Not that you fans of mine would do this to me, but still, it's a safety issue thing. Another reason is... more personal, and rather dumb. But I must follow it due to my current living condition. Believe me, if I had my way, I would gladly allow fan art. But for the moment, fan art is not allowed. I know lots of people put some time and dedication to

My idea for April...
So in this status, I stated that I had this idea that I wanna do for April. https://www.deviantart.com/jimenopolix/status-update/There-s-this-idea-I-want-1018615707 Some people were interested, so I guess I'll explain my idea... Given that this is the year of Kevin and Violet based on the pics I shall upload, I decided to do something special with them. I thought of doing mini individual collabs with other people who happen to have alien OCs, as well as OCs that hunt aliens or live among aliens far away from Earth, with their alien/alien hunters/alien enthusiasts interacting with Kevin and Violet. Maybe Kevin and Violet are getting along well with a cool alien character, fighting against a threatening alien, or teaming up with alien hunters or alien enthusiasts, talking about what they love/hate about aliens. The idea is if you have alien OCs or alien hunters/enthusiast OCs, you draw your half of the collab (your alien-related OCs doing something), and I'd draw my half with Kevin
AI ''Artist'' Spotted
Hello, friends. It has recently been brought to my attention that there's someone on here who is "cheating the system". It appears they have been producing AI-art and posting it on here as "original" art. This is the user's profile: https://www.deviantart.com/fijnewiet Now, from what I've learned, IF you happen to create AI-generated art and post it on here, you must ADMIT to it being AI art so nobody confuses it for actual art created by human hands, let alone created by you. This individual either missed the memo, or they thought they could get away with showcasing OBVIOUSLY AI-GENERATED art and pass it off as their own. Their gallery consists of various different illustrations, paintings, photos, and other forms of art that somehow feel a bit off. There are those iconic smudges, bent body parts, distorted faces, "rubber lighting" (as a friend of mine coined), and the paintings seem rather inconsistent in style. https://www.deviantart.com/fijnewiet/gallery/89627326/old-crap
